The Lebanese Army said it was deploying forces near the Israeli border as a U.S.-backed truce between Israel and Hezbollah militants began to take effect.

Multiple countries are investigating and the authorities in Europe say they have not ruled out sabotage. But U.S. intelligence officials have assessed that the cables were not cut deliberately.

The German government denied it had taken action against Russia’s Channel One office in Berlin but said two Russian journalists no longer had residency permits.
